Component 1- Power Generation Expansion (expand existing generation through establishment of solar Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage Systems) in selected five locations (towns) namely Eyl, Dhusamareb, Jowhar, Barawe, and Bardhare with a total Photovoltaic Solar capacity of 2,450 Kilowatt’ peak and 4,750 kilowatt per hour energy storage system.

Component 2- Expansion of Distribution Network and Customer Connections:

Component 2 has the following two subcomponents.

Subcomponent 2.1: Construction of Medium voltage and low Voltage distribution lines and installation of distribution transformers and the selected five locations with a total scope of 30.22 kilometers

Subcomponent 2.2- Electricity Connection Expansion (Customers connections): Purchase of postpaid energy meters to enhance connection of new customers and to help ease connection of new customers particularly the poor and vulnerable people who cannot afford the new connection cost in the targeted areas.

Component 3– Dissemination of Advanced Cooking Technologies: The Clean Cooking and Improved Biomass Cook stoves will help in enhancing efficiency of utilization of charcoal and wood fuel, reduce the impact on health and carbon emissions. Planned to disseminate 25,000 units of advanced cook stoves in the targeted areas.

Component 4 Technical assistance and Capacity Building and Design and Supervision Consultant: Under talking technical assistance and Capacity building for the Federal Ministry of Energy and Water resources, Federal Member states and private sector on development, integration, and utilization including Operation and maintenance of renewable energy technologies (on grid, off grid systems) and clean advanced cooking technologies.

component 5– Project management operational cost for the Project implementation unit to cover the project management and operational expenses related to the project implementation.
