The direct target group of the project are water authorities and further sectoral institutions at federal state and national levels with their national levels with their management and technical personnel as well as local stakeholders like clan or water user group representatives who can serve as multipliers for the management and utilisations of the water resources in the Juba and Shabelle basins.
Institution building the federal member states of Hirshabelle and Jubaland in collaboration with federal institutions have each specifically monitored the implement-station of two priority actions on climate resilient WRM of regional strategic water action plans.
Maintaining infrastructure 20 water infrastructure facilities for flood control along the Juba and Shabelle rivers have been maintained by federal member state institutions in collaboration with local water user groups.
Water innovation in 10 cases, innovative solutions or approaches from the demonstration projects implemented for learning purposes have been replicated by local water user groups to expand water use.
Gender 10 women-led initiatives have implemented efficient water use with one pilot activity each to increase production of crops and vegetables along the Juba and Shabelle rivers.
